A Slow Start but a Great Stay

Overall, this was a great place to stay. I contacted Gillian, the property manager, twice before we arrived, and both times she answered promptly. The place worked well for our five day stay. There were three bedrooms (four of us) and 1 1/2 bathrooms. Beds were comfortable, shower was fine. The kitchen was roomy and convenient. The living area was comfortable, but could use another chair. We had to use one of the kitchen stools for additional seating. The washer/dryer was handy. It's conveniently close to town, at least from our perspective. We're all fans of walking, so the distance to downtown Halifax and even further was very doable. Access to the unit is up a few stairs to a porch, then up a flight of stairs. That was a little tough on my hips, but not a deal-breaker. The only issue we had was on arrival. The place had not been cleaned. There were dirty sheets on all the beds, some laundry in the washer, and trash overflowing in the can. I immediately called Gillian and left a message; after no answer within 10 minutes, I texted her. She responded immediately, very apologetic, and took care of the problem. We found a place to eat while the place was cleaned. On returning, things were better, but I have to admit, not quite what I expected. There were 2 dirty glasses in the dishwasher, and a few hairs on the bathroom floor. The next day, I had to look under the couch for some dropped dice, and was disappointed in the amount of dust under there. It obviously hadn't been really vacuumed in quite a long time. Also, one day 2 men showed up at the door, saying they were there to inspect for a future A/C installation. We let them in, they were quick and polite. But we were not warned about that ahead of time and it seemed a little suspicious. I texted Gillian to ask about it; she was unaware of it. She did text me later in the day and said they were legitimate. It just felt a little odd. Overall, it was a good experience and I'd use it again. The issues were all addressed, and we had a wonderful time in Halifax :)

Nice place, well located

The apartment is a good size and very nice inside. The location is excellent and easy walking distance from the centre of Halifax, also handy for shops and restaurants (Eliot
